Red Hat Linux Certification

Post by fiby41 »

To do or not to do?
Has anyone here done it? Would you recommend it?

I have mainly red hat certified engineer, or system administrator in mind.

I suppose you want to do it for the job market, right? If so, you should see what your target market says. See some ads, call someone potential employers.

If you want do to it for the learning, there are far better ways to learn for free and to spend money with better returns. If I were the one looking at your resume (and I could be), the fact that you had this certification would tell me that you like structure, you are good following orders and processes, and know something about Linux. I’d definitely not hire if the position would be something that requires innovation and creativity for example. But that’s me, don’t trust my word, ask the market you’re targeting.
