Portland Meet-Up October 27, 2019

Post by cimorene12 »

Would anybody in NW Oregon be interested in meeting up in Beaverton, OR on Sunday, Oct. 27 a little after noon? I chose Beaverton because there's a good variety of meeting places within easy walking distance of the Beaverton Transit Center, where the buses and MAX lines meet, yet there's still free parking.

Tentative, not inexpensive location:

I'm open to suggestions of Beaverton restaurants or bars within a mile or so of Beaverton TC that native Oregonians enjoy. On the off chance that someone from Seattle would want to jump on the 7:25 AM train from Seattle to Portland and then immediately jump on the MAX to Beaverton, meeting up around noon would be viable.

I texted a Portland forum member (@Zarathustra) to let her know about this meetup. Maybe she'll be interested. (I don't think she has been on the forums for quite a long time, but maybe she'll want to go)

If my plans for coming to Portland on the 19th fall through, I'll try to make it. We're not super bar people though and I might have my two year old, would that place work for him? I'm sure DH wouldn't mind watching him.....

@mooretrees, whatever you want to do is totally fine. I'm probably going to hit the Portland Nursery on Oct. 19 in the morning, because they have an apple tasting festival.

If you want to come to Portland on Oct. 27, that's entirely okay. If your husband wants to look after your son, the Oregon Zoo might be a fun place to go.

I love the apple festival!!! I have been to it many times. If we do come into town the 19th, maybe we can meet up then? We won't be into pdx until the afternoon as we have our last farmers market of the year that morning. I do think DH would like the zoo, not sure he's ever been to that one.

Maybe I'll just pm you as it gets closer?

Yeah go ahead and PM me. I'm busy for dinner on Oct. 19 but afternoon is definitely viable.

I'm ready to meet up at the Westgate around noon next Sunday, Oct. 27. :) Apparently their selection is vast, and it's a great place to try different things.

Any last minute additions? Any west side residents that need a ride?

I'll be wearing a blue North Face fleece jacket or have it nearby.

I think Riggerjack mentioned he might make the drive as well.

He’s always the life of the party.

Hope it is fun, I won't make it. But maybe another meet up near Thanksgiving might work?

I'm sitting within direct sight of the door wearing a black dress with flowers on it, and my trusty blue fleece is on my chair behind me.

None of you brought the green book to wave around? 8-) Alternatively, writing ERE on a piece of paper and putting it on the table usually works.
