Bookshelf Photos Anyone?
Good Morning all,
Long time lurker and avid reader of the forum. I thought it might be interesting to see what other members have on their bookshelves. I've seen this done in other places and I've love to see what the ERE crowd's shelves look like
We have 2 bookshelves in our living room. These are mostly reference and books that get read a decent amount.

In my office I have mostly fiction. Authors left over from my youth and hard-boiled novels I can turn to when I need to unplug from this century

I also have a small shelf with Dell Mapback pulp novels. A collection I will never get completed but is always amusing to me

Sorry for the links...haven't figured out how to imbed to the proper size yet.

I had a bookshelf years ago. Sold my books, gave some. It accumulated dust and took too much real estate.

Re: Bookshelf Photos Anyone?
I have a library in my house, I just haven't remembered to take pictures of it yet.
Re: Bookshelf Photos Anyone?
I've also disposed of most of my books, to minimize clutter. I'd estimate I have fewer than 3% of the books I've owned.
Now I typically buy, read, pass on. Going to the library is a pain in the butt, with their due dates, fines, and closing at night. Amazon is where it's at.
I think it would be more interesting to see the books people here have chosen to keep, since they're probably not just collecting reading trophies.

Oh, I see, we cannot attach photos to a post without uploading somewhere first. That's why nobody is doing this.

Re: Bookshelf Photos Anyone?
That and it takes time for those of us with many bookshelves.
Re: Bookshelf Photos Anyone?
Hmm.
I just had to rebuild one of my bookshelves because I had placed so many books on many of the shelves that the shelves could not support the weight. I understand that is possible, but I never would have thought of it, I mean they books not weights; turns out they are weights.
So, I'm currently debating to start decluttering books and just keep the ones I know I will want to reference(foods that prevent cancer) or will cherish(foundations of morality) or will want to continue with more bookshelves as my personal trophy cases that I have read them.

ok,
I took apart my stacks of books and re-organized them into categories like fiction, history, etc by author and found I have two full bookshelves and another 130 inches of books that need a bookshelf(they wehre just stashed in any free spot on the existing shelves.
in addition, I have over 30 inches of articles I have read. I started keeping these when I figured I could write books from the articles I read, and I wrote two books largely off of them.
I cannot declutter the boks as they are my personal trophy case that I do not sit around and update my facebook page, but I'm going to throw out the articles and just keep them on a yearly basis, like everything I read and printed in 2017.
would post pictures if I could.

Was thinking of uploading pics of all the different libraries I've been to while living in the van.. (surprised me how varied they are in their catalogues.. some incredible selections of some niches I like) then I remembered I don't take photos nearly enough.
My personal bookshelf is mostly stragglers that are hard to part with or $1 second hand books:
