Polyphasic Sleep
Re: Polyphasic Sleep
It's not surprising that it has not been mentioned before. There are what, fewer than 5 persons in the world who can successfully stick to an Ubermann or polyphasic sleep schedule without naps? Probably these people genetically require less sleep than the rest of us. There are scores of people who have tried it and could not maintain it.
Re: Polyphasic Sleep
it has been mentioned before. brute agrees that it is only viable for humans who genetically require extremely low amounts of sleep (<4h or so).
brute himself has tried several times and had to stop every time. brute requires ~8h of sleep per night.

According to his research, the percentage of humans who can get by on less than 5 hours of sleep is so low that it rounds to zero. I recommend reading his book before experimenting with your circadian induced sleep patterns.

Re: Polyphasic Sleep
9 hours needed for this person.
