What does DW mean?

I've tried to figure this out myself, googling and searching the forums, and I understand from context it means a partner, but what does it stand for?
Designated Wife? Da- Wife?

I always thought it was Dear Wife, not sure if I made that up or what. And there's DH (Dear Husband), DD (Dear Daughter) etc, you'll find many variations around the forums

Also, ETA does *not* mean Estimated Time of Arrival on forums
It means "Edited to Add".
