This has always been one of my favorite songs. It seems to have the intent of the forum behind it's lyrics. Instead of my making a YouTube video and singing it for you, I will simply post the lyrics, and you can, as an ERE'r, imagine yourself singing it!
I Did It My Way
Frank Sinatra
"And now the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend I'll say it clear
I'll state my case of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way
Regrets I've had a few
But then again too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way
Yes there were times I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out, I faced it all
And I stood tall and did it my way
I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now as tears subside
I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say not in a shy way
Oh no, oh no, not me
I did it my way
For what is a man what has he got
If not himself then he has not
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way
Yes it was my way"

Regrets, I've had a few.
Re: Regrets, I've had a few.
I used to have a Sergeant in the military that for whatever damn reason just did not like me and I did not like him either. But one day his car broke down on the side of the road and I picked him up on the way to work. He begrudgingly took the ride anyway lol but I just so happened to be listening to Frank Sinatra from a thumb drive in my car. It was not "My Way" but was "New York." He said "Interesting, I didn't know you liked Frank Sinatra? Most of your generation just stuck listening to that rap sh*t." I've nothing against rap either; I just happened to be listening to Frank Sinatra that day lol because I go artist by artist and looking for nuggets of music I like.
Funny how music can do that - just from listening to this I was able to transcend a generation of differences or something and we got a long a little bit better after this.
Also felt like pulling a Stalmann. Just once lol.
