How do you define ERE as opposed to traditional ER?
My thoughts.. Traditional early retirement would be to leave before statutory retirement age, which in the UK is 65-67. So this would be ER from 55-65.
ERE to me would be to retire before aged 55.
Or is it lifestyle or the individual's philosophy which determines ERE, rather than age. Or is it savings rate. Is thi having a savings rate over 50% be seen as ERE.
Or perhaps all of the above. To plan to (or achieve) retirement before aged 55, together with a simple frugal lifestyle, and a savings rate (whilst employed) of at least 50%.
What is your definition and thoughts on this?
