Never had a garage, never even had a paved driveway, so I couldn't say.

But I did have that backwards, the problem is the excess moisture gathering in concrete. Goodyear doesn't seem to think it matters (and yeah obviously sun is the big problem, but I'm assuming if you're storing outdoors you'd at least get tire covers). For me, since replacing my tires is about $2000, I'll go ahead and take every precaution I can, whether they're scientifically proven or scientifically sneered at, it costs nothing to slap some wood under your tires.
