Finding volatility of index funds

Post by thai_tong »

I'd like to spread my investing fund over a few indexes, before I do that I want to make sure that they match the level of risk I'm considering and to be sure that the volatility is acceptable for the rate of return.

Index funds specify their growth and maybe their risk rating but never their volatility.

There may be a dozen index funds I could buy into which all follow the S&P 100. Instead of looking at the volatility of each index fund I can look at the volatility of the S&P 100 which may not match exactly but I think its an accurate indicator. Does anybody know of a good site which could show this?

See, for example, https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/XLF/risk?p=XLF

Volatility = standard deviation
