yep, ther's some better summary of it than author's post on medium. gonna post if I find it.

ok, maybe this:

The interesting thing is that the author codeveloped some crazy shit to FB and then writes book on how avoid traps of modern technology  . It somehow scratches my troll-side.

Perhaps distraction is an adaptation (Ne) that pushes some agents towards the exploration of a potentially threatening space. Conquering such a space should gradually convert the threatening space into an extension of their home (Si), allowing comfort and relaxation.

You just need to find the right kind of distractions, paradoxically.

Humans with higher IQs tend to exhibit/tolerate more chaotic brain activity than humans with lower IQs. Engaging in routine activity is akin to calming your brain and lowering your IQ and level of creativity. Also, exploration is related to sex for members of outbreeding species like humans.

Also, many years ago when I went in to be evaluated for ADHD, the psychiatrist informed me that it was much more likely that I suffered from mild cyclothymia. High IQ, early reading, and ability to hyper focus differentiates those with mild cyclothymia from those with ADHD.

Since bipolar runs in my family and I was almost engaged to a man who turned out to suffer from bipolar 1, and I was almost married to a man whose family was equally laden with bipolar, and my sister was also married to a man with bipolar disease, I have on many occasions witnessed how heightened chaotic brain activity can lead to heightened functioning (sparks of brilliance) followed by extreme disorganization/insane thoughts and behavior.

So, I think it is kind of the same, but less so, for humans who don’t suffer from bipolar disease. Kind of like how two normies can very much enjoy sex, but it’s not as intense as when two borderline bipolar individuals knock boots.

IOW, honor what your distraction is trying to tell you.
