Get treatment from a good psych team, including meds and therapy.
No caffeine, no alcohol, no weed, no other recreational drugs.
Get on a diet that minimizes swings in energy, probably low carb. Eat at consistent times. Don't get hungry.
Get enough sleep. Sleep consistently, not 4 hours one night and 12 the next.. If you are "up" and can't sleep use melatonin, etc for help.
Try to minimize stresses that will set off an up or down swing.
Pay attention to what sets off swings and minimize.
Find support and use it.
If there is a problem in your life making you depressed try to fix it rather than living with it or treating the symptoms.

I didn't watch the videos. Look around online, there are resources for this issue but make sure they are legitimate.

Also, I think there is a long thread on here somewhere where people make suggestions to tophatfox about depression. There might be some ideas there.

The point on caffeine is interesting. I wonder if all other variables are controlled if that would still make a difference.

Not worth the cost.
. Don't get hungry
Eat only when hungry.
Get enough sleep. Sleep consistently, not 4 hours one night and 12 the next.. If you are "up" and can't sleep use melatonin, etc for help.
Duration of sleep is irrelevant. Intensity of sleep is paramount. Wakefulness, sleeping, deep sleep and dream state occur in cycles in accordance with your body's internal biological clock ( kept by the amygdala?) and not by the alarm which is only an interrupt.
