tl;dr guy checked to what people "followed" longterm based on ther MFP acc, motivated by illness of his wife. created own app in mean time.
take aways:
- emphasis on "nutrition density"
- LCHF can work in longterm
- high-fat can work too in longerm too
Opimizing nutrition - "data-driven" working diet solutions
Re: Opimizing nutrition - "data-driven" working diet solutions
Good, he has a some stuff on fasting https://optimisingnutrition.com/2016/03 ... e-forever/
I've struggled with weight for a long time, I've done keto diet for 6-8+ months before - twice, etc. But I didn't know about how easy and how effective waterfasting actually is until earlier this year. Plus all the health benefits of autophagy once you get to 4-5 days and up, tightening up skin, fixing old joint issues, etc.
It's incredible for improving insulin & leptin sensitivity and the metabolism as well. I've gone from 215lbs to 185 lbs doing a mix of waterfasting and OMAD (one meal a day, 23 hour fast, 1 hour eating) at different times over the past 8 months. And honestly it's been so much easier than any sort of diet. Plus there's no urge to regain weight after since the hormones are getting reset.
