Warrior diet: water fast vs undereating

Post by mathiverse »

Is there any benefit to doing a water fast vs eating the foods recommended in the undereating phase of the warrior diet?

I recently started the warrior diet and after a few days I have adapted well enough to do a water fast since I'm not very hungry throughout the day. Is it better to do a water fast or are there reasons to eat?

I think its easier to fast and give my digestive system a break. I tend to eat One Meal A Day (OMAD) on non-workout days and two meals on workout days. This makes meal prep easy and maintains the body shape I prefer.

Consuming protein, even tiny amounts, would activate mtor and stop autophagy. Part of the benefits of fasting has to do with this strange word autophagy. It means your cells break down damaged proteins and organelles to be used by the body for other things when you don't eat. They are then replaced with good ones when you do.
