Career people

Post by Forskaren »

I was on a short course paid by my employer. Basically a course for career people that have to lead other people.

Is it just me or do you get a strange feeling in the air at that kind of events?

Having been through a number of those, I think the strangeness for me was simply a strong awareness of not belonging at such an event. From what I could tell there was nothing wrong with the events themselves, just with the selection of me as an attendee. They were a source of good intel though--I was able to identify a few people to be avoided and thereby saved myself some grief in the long run.

A person whose ambition is free themselves from the shackles of mandatory employment, surrounded by people whose ambitions are to control others in the same? Yeah. I'd feel like a hen in the foxhouse.
