Yea 6-10 years is about right. There is room though for faster progression. My savings rate was holding steady at 40% for many years but recently recorded 52%. I’m also just recently going through a second wave of reading ERE book and strategizing food intake... In either case yea my job blows sometimes but It is what it is. I decided to just go for it (try to be promoted), not rock the boat, etc.
In new developments, surprise we lost our bid and I’m off to a new project in November. If a new project is not assigned , I will be let go. Can’t say I’m actually worried about that. I have an incredible amount of options with $200k in the bank.
