Anyone living among them not aware that they might wan't to be more among themselves in more difficult times is a fool.

As someone who has been called out for privilege in a rural environment, I'm a bit flummoxed by some of these answers. PC culture is real, but only in the least competent members of the team. By the same token, nationalism is real, among the least of us. But these are tiny, messed up minorities. This is the most extreme people glorying in being the most extreme.

But there is a strong incentive for those on the right to conflate the left to PC, and for those on the left to conflate the right with nationalism. So if you are wondering about how real this is, consider your source. Odds are it is only real enough to catch your attention. When I do look into these things, they seem to be as accurate as any movie "inspired by true events". I call this Hallmark realism.
