Unfortunately, that's one of those woo-woo quotes that only makes sense to people who already understand the utility of gratitude. To everyone else you might as well be quoting Deepak Chopra.

That is a really good point FBeyer. I think that is always the hard part about "teaching" others life lessons. Most of them do not make sense when you do not realize the gravity of the lesson. But once you've experienced it yourself, the lesson suddenly becomes crystal clear. But at the same time also redundant.

I had the same experience when reading entrepreneurial books. Most of the hints didn't "hit me" until after I had done the mistake myself.
