This is from God Emperor of Dune by Frank Herbert. There is so much stuff I've taken for granted, & many times that I have been caught out because I didn't understand.
The Dune Chronicles are awesome & I highly recommend them.

I second that. I only read Frank Herbert's original series.
It's also useful to understand geopolitics as it pertains to oil/US/terrorists/oil companies/Middle East (spice/emperor/fremen/houses/Dune).

Lets call them freedom fighters then :) It's a matter of perspective and asymmetric 4th generation warfare.
