Man retires at 19 and bicycles around the world

Post by ether »

Reading a reddit IAMA here
From what I have gathered he inherited a property in Germany and lives off the rent so he can travel across the world on his bike.
Here is his Facebook page and personal website

It was very interesting to read about his lifestyle.

19? FML! What's that? Embryonic retirement extreme? He can't have worked for more than a year or two in his life :D

I know, lucky sod. On the other hand, would I have been savvy enough to travel around the world on the cheap at 19 if I had inherited a house? Probably not. Suspect that I would have got my own mortgage and frittered a lot of money on shiny crap, realising several years later that I had missed my best chance for freedom ;)

This is the guy who sent me a bunch of his old touring stuff.

Through the mail (via his girlfriend)

And trusted me to send him money for it.

Having only met me via the internet.

And answered a bunch of my questions.

Quickly.

While biking through Japan or Russia or something.

P.S. He knows about ERE.
