Strong smell of scam. There is verbatim text from the St John, Kansas wikipedia entry. Also, looks like one of the photos was lifted from here:
http://www.skyways.org/towns/StJohn/churches.html
"WE JUST RETIRED AND MOVED BACK EAST". The all-caps and the easterly direction of retirement sound fishy. Did they pick Kansas and New York because it's hard to convince anyone from New York to go to Kansas and spill the scam?
I'm guessing an overseas scam, maybe to get someone to put up earnest money to secure an offer. Probably not a rookie, but if you look later in text, you can see "35.000" when what was intended was "35,000". I believe that the period is used as the thousands separator in Europe, and elsewhere.
I'm tempted to reply and ask the poster to give me a bank and an account number where I can wire the funds, just to see what kind of a response comes back.

This would be sweet! The only problem is that I don't know if there would be enough of us to justify the utility bills.
Since it most likely is a scam, we should tell them we will pay double if they agree to serve us all the special koolaid after we get our robed community started! :)
