The Newton building at Nottingham Trent University has, for the last decade, been home to a breeding pair of peregrine falcons, who nest on an outside ledge near the top. Watch live footage of them over the next few months as they lay eggs and rear their chicks.

Not for the faint at heart but amazing for wildlife voyeurs.

Daniel Suelo commencement address at Colorado University-Boulder

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUYXq_l3vRM
But we're in a society that doesn't grow up, we're in a society that cannot be motivated except by dollars and cents and status and possessions. And this is the wisdom of children that we've lost, and we think of it as naive, but this is our true selves. And this is what I challenge everyone to do, is not necessarily give up money, but this is all about finding your true self, like, keep looking within and you'll go down the right path, you will find success, it'll be great success. The world might not think it's success, but you'll know, and you'll be able to move forward in constance, no matter what anybody says, you'll be powerful. And to me this is another lost concept in the Judao-Christian tradition: People will ask you who's your authority, who motivates you, who sent you. This is the idea that Moses was asked, and the answer is the divine name: I am who I am. That is your identity: I am who I am. And if you say that, no matter what, just be yourself completely, then you'll be one with the divine, with the whole universe, and that is your power, there is no greater power than that.

SURFWISE:
http://www.netflix.com/WiMovie/70098885?trkid=2361637

I recommend this very highly.

It's a documentary that is about a man and a family who surf and travel a lot. Primarily it is about ERE - about this guy's motivations and mindset, and about what it enabled him to do. The family thinks VERY independently. They don't start with societal norms and expectations and so their lives are very different. It shows some of the very positive impacts it had on his family, and some negative ones also - mostly challenges for the kids having grown up so differently.

So this guy had a D average in high school, but somehow got into Stanford, became a doctor, and got some kind of high ranking / powerful health related job. He hated it. So he ERE'd, lived with his family (wife and 9 kids) in a VAN, and surfed every day. He's 84 and in really good shape and still surfs. Seems to be a guy who really thinks for himself. He wasn't perfect, that's for sure, as you'll see.

It's full of ERE one-liners and funny quotes.

One example, not really ERE-Related, (Well, I suppose the guy ERE'ing allowed him to do this)
"Then I met a Jewish girl named Ellen. We kind of got together, and she taught me how to east pussy... And that changed my life a great deal." He goes on to explain how this open/changed his mind about sexuality. He went on a mission to build his skill and invented some kind of assessment that women would do after having sex with him (I think.... or it may have been about them, or about their compatibility?) - he found a women who scored a 93%, married her, and had the 9 kids.

(It's not about surfing, it seems to be entirely about the man's life and his family, and how his lifestyle allowed him and his family to live)

TINY

When I fantasize about an ERE city, I have two versions. One is a rural village based on shared homesteading. The other is something more urban like this ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdQGozSavz8#t=422 .

Except, I don't think I could live with these people. The clutter would drive me insane.

I'm sure an ERE village would be MUCH more efficient.

By the same folks as We The Tiny House People, Summer of (Family) Love is a documentary about a family roadtrip in a VW camper. I am biased.

I especially like the interview with the woman at 41:00.

Just watched this and it is a great source of information. At about 1:15:00 he talks about going on a 'news sabbath' and I can tell from personal experience this is a great idea. March 2014 until about Fall 2014 I completely tuned out all news feeds and it was amazing. Even now I only check financial news and energy news, but I can feel another sabbath coming.

Chef:

A fun movie with work and life priorities as a central theme. Heard about it through an interview with Jon Favreau that was also interesting:
