This is a great article. I never would have expected it from Vanity Fair, right next to articles on Lady Gaga

Vanity Fair actually does a lot of extensive in-depth background journalism on finance.

It is indeed an excellent article... The whole time I read it I couldn't help but think similar things are likely going on everywhere. Has the US government built an even bigger house of cards? (I kinda think so)

That is a great article. Stuff like that gets hidden in magazines you don't expect. Like the stuff Taibbi wrote on Goldman Sachs and the economic collapse in The Rolling Stone.
