The Power of Bad: How the Negativity Effect Rules Us and How We Can Rule It


The main focus is on negativity bias -- how it works and how we can each identify our own to keep it in check. Each chapter focuses on a different situation in which people struggle with it. One is on relationships and how the best marriages aren't the ones that get better with age but the ones that decline the slowest. Another is on carrots vs. sticks and why 'everyone gets a trophy' is such a bad idea.

Easy to read with good advice. Highly recommend.

eta: I recommend it here because people seem to be more pessimistic than the general population. I recommended it to a couple of prepper friends too.
