I'm abrasive enough as it is, so I've learned (over many years of practice) to shut my yap and wait for people to finish, that way I don't interrupt AND lecture at the same time. While I wait I count of my fingers the number of issues I see with their question/comment.

I've found that counting on my fingers (while talking) helps me focus on how many different threads of thought I'm weaving into my answers. Well, not just how many, but it also helps me focus on connecting them when I get to the finale. It's often that I have to say "Hang on, I'll get to that, just let me tie up these three loose ends" and then continue with the answer.
Like you I found that ideas overflowed from memory, so I develop the counting-on-fingers trick. It helped!

When I do the counting scheme, it plays out more like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WJXHY2OXGE

Will there be a part 3? The YouTube comments imply there will be... but Mike has been quiet the last 2 weeks and appears to have moved on to other video projects.

There's more video, but some of you guys didn't exactly give him a warm welcome, so he might have decided to postpone indefinitely or let it slide. If it was me, I certainly would be having second thoughts on whether to continue.

Or maybe it's simply queued up.

The other stuff we recorded was a lot more random and the intention was to edit it into much smaller pieces covering specific questions/subjects. The interview above was actually the last thing we recorded.

You are interesting enough, and surprisingly compelling enough, to have a documentary style interview where you just walk and talk the audience through your life and ideas and a few questions are strategically asked only to lead you to a deeper discussion and these questions are asked from an off camera position. This was the interview equivalent of watching a movie next to someone constantly making unnecessary and obvious comments.

There's indeed been a lot of criticism here, and little of the constructive variety. It's always easy to complain and offer nothing in return. Interviewing is a difficult craft that takes years to master, and he is starting. It wasn't perfect, but he is putting out content (those interviews, at least) that's worth much more that a lot of the crap that's out there. Anyways, I'd love to see it if there's more to come.
