Hi everyone! I stumbled across ERE today while trying to figure out what to do with the proceeds from the sale of my house. I have not been financially savvy in my life, even by mainstream standards. (Profiting on the house is sheer dumb luck.) I'm almost 40 with no retirement savings or plan to speak of and still have student loan debt. I'm not even sure where to start, but for some time I have desperately wanted to escape the rat race and live as simply as possible. I read "Possom Living" a couple years ago and I thought it was crazy but in a brilliant way. Can't wait to get to know some of you and learn more about ERE!

I liked Possum Living even though I am not interested in raising meat animals in my house.
