I'm 22. In my adult life thus far I've been a lot less consumerist than those around me (thank you Marcus Aurelius), and I ready Mr. Money Mustache for a while before finding Jacob's blog about a year ago. MMM was very helpful, but ERE opened up my eyes to a whole new level of frugality that I previously didn't realize existed.

I have characteristics all the way from 0-7 on the Wheaton scale. I don't budget, but I do track my spending religiously. I spent 53% of my income last year, and I'm on track to do better this year. I invest in an index fund with Vanguard, and am looking into other options as well.

After highschool, I became the first kid in my family to forego college. Instead, I joined the military and became an electronics technician. At this point, I'm also the first of my siblings not to obtain a master's degree, but I did recently get started on an associates in electronics and instrumentation.

In my free time, I like to read, lift weights, cook, and eat. Often with friends. I also enjoy hiking when the weather's good.

My Myers Briggs type is INTJ. I look forward to learning from you guys.

Welcome platypus!

You know a great deal about ERE, Wheaton Scale, budgeting, MBTI, etc. already. Sounds like a great start. You'll do fine.

Do you have any mid-term / long-term milestones or goals?

Also, you would like to look for theanimal in this forum. He lives in Alaska, too.

I tend to do better with process goals than outcome goals, and right now my main goal is spending less than half my income. In terms of milestones, I'd like to have $100,000 in investments and at this rate I'll be there in the next few years.
