Hello all,
I am late 50s and have spent 27.5 years in the tech industry on the local government side. First as a coder and more recently on the system software/tech support side. I am so done with it. So burned out.
I haven't saved as much as I should have but my house is paid off. I know I don't fit the ERE profile on this forum but I feel like I've found my people.
Looking forward to support with my "early" retirement. I will be keeping a journal here.
Thanks
I'm here

Welcome to the forums.
Having a paid off house is definitely a good start towards FIRE.

Your situation sounds exactly like what my dad's will be in 10 years, as far as age, tech job for local gov't, and paid off house, small savings. I wish you luck, especially as a potential bellweather for my dad, who has read the ERE book.
