Re: ERE Year 2 - Choose Your Own Adventure - Geoarbitrage and Nomadic Lifestyle Edition

It seems we had similar feelings the last few days. We had a lot of expectations and felt pretty excited about our move and everything changed (or just got put on hold) because of Covid. On the other hand, I can tell you we are very fortunate and are in a position a lot of people can't even dream of...

Re: Frugal chicos journal - ERE in Spain

These last couple of weeks have been a little rough. The underlying stress caught me. I found myself thinking too much about the future and worrying about the uncertainty of the economy, work situation and my parents' divorce (happening next week). I also feel that the move has not gone as planned (...

I heard you about the adventure vehicle... I day dream quite often about a VW t4. With all this stuff going on, the best we can do is sit and wait or hit the road and have some fun.

Re: Star*Bucks ERE Journal

If you want to save some money on the Apple watch, check the Chinese versions on Aliexpress or buy an older model on eBay or Poshmark (I bought mine there for $42). Also, if your phone is lagging due to the battery. You can change it yourself easily for about $6. I did it myself (my phone is 7 years...

Re: Frugal chicos journal

@ Nicolino & CL Thanks! Yes, things are going pretty well. We are just enjoying our time without big worries. Living simple and enjoying little things. Sometimes, I feel I don't really think much about the future or anything in particular (as much as I used to do before). Surfing, cooking and th...

Re: Frugal chicos journal

Today we reached a milestone - We passed the $500K mark. I guess we are half millionaires. I feel pretty accomplished and ready for the next goal. We would like to have a house paid off and about $600K in savings to totally retire. The other day I fantasized about winning the Euromillion (it was 33 ...

Re: International Money transfers

Thanks for the comments guys. TW is definitely the best option. The only issue is BOA's limit of 10K a week for domestic transfers. So the whole process will take about 1 month.

I think I got insurance through eHealth back in July when I was fired and didn't want to pay an extra ridiculous cost through Chica's job insurance. I believe it was like $65/month

Seville and Getafe are quite far from my home. However, it might be worth the flight... and yes, I will definitely use the baby carrying her on a front backpack as Galifianakis on The Hangover. Thanks for the research :)

Today has been a year anniversary of funemployment/year gap/break/whatever you want to name it. Time flies!! Looking back I can name a few highlights, like becoming a father, running a half marathon, moving back to my home city, going through a pandemic and relearning how to surf. As a brief summary...

International Money transfers

Hi everyone,

I would like to have some recommendations for how you deal with international transfers. We are buying a condo in Spain and are thinking about transferring 120K USD to Spain in Euros. I heard of Transferwise and it seems they have the lowest fees.

Thanks!

Re: ERE Year 2 - Geoarbitrage, Permaculture, and Nomadic Lifestyle Design

Pretty awesome you guys are settled and enjoying the house. It sounds like a beautiful place. I agree with the price of the groceries. We eat like kings for a week for 60E. I can buy two full Ikea style bags at the veggie and fruit shop and only spend about 20E. I never understood why US groceries a...

Macao is an interesting city too. However, HK was the city that I like the most. Perhaps, because it was the most westernised. You are going to have a great time there and I am very jealous of all the siu mai, dumplings, congee, hot pot and noodles you will get to eat...

Very nice motorbike. Life is to be enjoyed in a thoughtful way, and it seems that you are very much doing it.

Congrats on the offer and good luck in HK. I recommend visiting Sanya.

@2B1S Thanks man, can't complain to be honest. Just came back from a wonderful bbq in the mountains and tomorrow morning I am going surfing with my sister. Chica is planning in taking some lessons next week or the next. It is good to have more surfing buddies. https://i.postimg.cc/k5xjqpnn/DSC-2710....
