Re: What to do with worn-out clothes?

You can make the worn out clothes into rag rugs or smaller things like potholders after cutting the fabric into strips. You might be able to sell those once you accumulate too many for your own use. You could check with your local animal shelter or an animal rescue to see if they can use anything yo...

Re: Lemur Journal!

The raised bed looks good! I really enjoy your garden updates. Two ways I get free scrap wood are: 1. Get free pallets from businesses that have a lot of extras, such as Walmart or the ranch store. Anywhere that you see a bunch of them stacked up by the loading dock is a good candidate - just ask a ...

Re: The Making of a Renaissance Hobo

ACE is definitely one of the big personal trainer certs and well worth considering. The other main ones in the US are NASM and NSCA. Before you commit to one, I suggest you talk to a number of personal trainers, the people at gyms who hire personal trainers, and also consider what you want to do as ...

If you want to become a personal trainer, you should check out the educational resources available from the organizations that serve exercise/fitness professionals. The resources you mentioned are targeted at non-professionals.

Until you sell your truck, you just need a sleeping bag and sleeping pad (or piece of foam) so that you can sleep comfortably in the truck bed. I will echo what others said - your first priority should be getting a sufficient quantity of high-quality sleep. You can't reliably make good decisions unt...

I have really enjoyed your journal. Thank you for putting so much effort into thought-provoking posts.

If you want to learn more about the theoretical underpinnings for strength training, as well as a lot of practical info, I highly recommend NSCA's Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning.

Re: How many of you are low energy?

If you told me that every time you enter a race, you start out really strong and are beating the competition but by the end you have run out of energy and can barely finish with the pack, I would tell you that you have a pacing problem, not a conditioning (energy levels) problem. And also perhaps yo...

For the cycling, you can also (sort of) simulate hills by riding into a headwind. Try adding intervals to your cycling routine to make up for not being able to put in the hours.

- Why does your family need to know that you sold your car? - Tell your gf, "It's an ERE thing I am trying. If I hate it I will buy a car, no big deal." - How often do you have to get somewhere quickly that is more than 10 miles away? Can you Uber, rent a car, carpool, or take public trans...

@whitebelt I'm a little late chiming in on this one, but these straps are my preferred system if I am not using clip-in pedals. Power Grips Toe Straps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0011ZH312/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_3FVE2F246W7GE9173YDY I find them to be more convenient to use than the metal cages. The ...

@whitebelt how many miles did the wheel have on it before it started going out of true? Was there an obvious cause when it initially went out of true? Sometimes new wheels (esp rear wheels) don't have enough tension on the spokes (bad build), and they will just keep going out of true until you re-te...

@7wannabe5 don't know if you tried applying for the cost relief from the pharmaceutical company or if you just read the published rules and decided you don't qualify. If you did not apply, I suggest doing so. My experience is that they do not always enforce the published rules for those programs and...

Congratulations on the progress you are making. I look forward to reading your next journal entry. If you are having unusually heavy bleeding during your period, you should get it checked out by your gyn even if you think it is due to a vaccination. It can be a symptom of something that is easily so...
