Re: Going card free?
I am considering going card free since I will use google pay for most transactions. Pulling the card out of my wallet, inserting it into a chip reader over and over again until it beeps and then putting it back is too much of a hassle. Now I will need to carry only my ID and phone, not a wallet ever...

Re: working two jobs
I plan to work two jobs. One job is part time as a retail pharmacy tech but they've assigned me 45 hr next week. I think it will vary between 18-45 hr. The other job will be at a drug rehab center and I plan to work there 16-24 hr a week. So the minimum I would work is 34 hr and the max is 69 hr. It...

Re: Ultimate Stoic Frugality Challenge
As mentioned above, you can try joining clinical studies for Ulcerative Colitis in the US to bring down medical costs .https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/results?cond=%22Colitis%2C+Ulcerative%22&cntry=US&Search=Apply&recrs=a&age_v=&gndr=&type=&rslt=. As for overcoming bodily ...

Re: Ultimate Stoic Frugality Challenge
Try to join a study research fecal transplant. It might help you as long as you are in the study and they will either give treatment for free and/or reduce costs. If you eventually reach a point where you need to carry a colostomy bag, remember it's not even noticeable if you position it right or cr...

Re: Bitcoin on the rise
@white belt: I do not think Crypto's volatility is a bug. If the field is not speculative, it would not trade as high as it is now. Yeah everything uses electricity but the value of a dollar won't move as fast as Bitcoin. If you have a password problem with your bank or cannot access money for a wee...

Re: Bitcoin on the rise
@white belt: The Fed is expecting 2 interest rate hikes by the end of 2023. So yes, I think it will be easy and the Fed needs to look like it's doing something about inflation. There are 3 bubbles feeding off each other in real estate, stock and crypto. While fear of deflation (as in the case of Jap...

Re: Bitcoin on the rise
The Monetary Fed doesn't have to do anything other than stop printing money. The Crypto bubble has a lot of things going against it already: 1) Its volatility. Though about 70% people claim they are buy-and-hold investors, there will be massive sell-offs whenever there are news of gov crackdowns, in...

Re: Bitcoin on the rise
I don't trust it, though I don't blame people for falling into the pits. Even Mark Cuban got burned with his Titan coin and he's now calling for regulations to "define what a stable coin is and what collateralization is acceptable". I think when enough people lost money the government will...

Re: Life without a cellphone
It depends on your age and location. If you look older than 50 years old, you might get pass if you tell people you don't have a cell phone and they have to bring you the physical menu in a restaurant. If you are younger, people might refuse and you will have to order whatever you see people around ...
