Re: Zeihan predicts end of growth everywhere except North America
This guy hasn’t been to India. Keeps getting better and better there. Heard stories of people defecating on the streets but I saw none of that there, I’ve predominantly seen that in NA.

Re: Priority 1: Health
In Japan 2nd time in past year, gaining weight quickly because I’m eating so much. This has been my experience, I gain weight as I travel, lose it when going back to my home base but I’ve travelled a lot recently. Was barely home 2-3 weeks and travelled again. Withdrawal rate under 3% again. Realizi...

Re: Priority 1: Health
Weight exactly same. Gained some weight on a trip, losing it back now, going well. Body looks nice though. I was having A5 wagyu every day and this stalled my weight loss. Back to chicken breast. Bought a sous vide machine, makes meat perfectly. Chicken breast for 4 hours at 63, so perfect. any hard...

Re: People who are already retired: why do you something, instead of nothing?
Because doing nothing is the most depressing thing imaginable. I saw some doc of a lady living off the grid, she said her routine is what kept her sane. We all have routines for sanity’s sake. I wake up, clean up, breathe, journal, eat mostly protein, “work” for an hour or 2, gym/physical therapy, w...

Re: ERE in an economy like Argentina?
Honestly, I’d leave. You have a strong passport travel-wise. 3 months visa free in Thailand and Vietnam, Mercosur access (live in all SA with just ID card), better Asia access than most Western passports, freedom to leave the tax net. Better than US passport in these regards. If you’re intent on sta...

Re: Priority 1: Health
My weight is exactly the same. I've been working out a bit more. Still doing PPL but I added some arm and neck work on Leg day as those feel lagging. Life is still a dream beyond what I pictured for myself. That's a joy and a bit of a curse as I don't have a clearly motivating image of what to go fo...

Socially engineer people's behavior starting at a young age through "education". I like this side of Jacob. Feels like a bright light illuminated many thoughts behind my resistance to sending my kids into the system. To op, wfh changed my life. I left the country, renounced that citizensh...

Re: Priority 1: Health
Weight stable now, slowly lowering calories. Maintenance around 2300-2500 kcal depending on activity and calorie composition. Life is pretty good. Training daily on 4 day cycle of push-pull-legs-cardio/sauna and the weight days I eat about maintenance with less calories on sauna day because weights ...

It gets electronically created with some button clicks. Technically, dilutes all usd holders (inflation), usa tax payers are necessarily usd holders as they’re required to pay taxes in usd.

Amazing progress. 50% savings rate is a big step in the direction of buying your freedom. I personally found that saving for long enough to reach ERE instilled a critical thinking about expenses so that I question whether habitual expenses are worth it or not to my happiness and realize that most, a...

Re: Would 20M Radically Increase Your Happiness?
@XMJ I literally can’t think of any more quality of life improvements unless I want to have tons of kids. The quality of life improvements I want now are dependent on hard work. Learn to sleep earlier, say no to buffets, learn to connect better to people. I’m a bit autistic, which may explain why I ...

Re: Bitcoin on the rise
Bailing out banks with taxpayer’s money created BTC. The genesis block reads: “The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks”. What is the value of decentralized, unseizable digital property? Very secure, very stable, very consistent block times, very resistant to change (for...

Re: Assets Historical Returns from 1802
220 years ago, there were less resources available for our use than there are now. Human ingenuity is what makes rock into metals, old dinosaurs into energy. Look into the deep earth, other planets, the star, the nuclei of atoms for far more energy than we find in fossilized carbon. Having more kids...

FSIXX seems the best choice if you have enough to get in.
Otherwise, brokers often allow you to buy through them both directly (at auction) and on the secondary market and have autorollover options.

If you’re into cash flow, consider that t-bills are currently paying out more than most dividend stocks.

@Salathor Oils and nuts are too easy for me to overeat, I do not keep them in the house. The main goal with nuts and seeds is the ALA/Omega 3s but they're much less bioavailable than the EPA/DHA in fish/algae oils. I got really, really fat when I was vegan. I can't go back, I tried it 3 times. Anima...

A similar experience to above is what started my thoughts. I assumed there were maybe ten steps that would maybe take an hour a piece to obtain some kind of a long-term residence in a few countries, but learned quickly that there are closer to 20 steps and after an afternoon not completing even ste...

Re: Priority 1: Health
Diet is very good on calories, protein, and fiber since start date. Been in a deficit every day. Fat has been too low though so thinking of some ways to increase that. I have several options: 1) Go out on a date once a week to get some crispy pork, shabu, or another variation of fatty meat. This run...
