Re: Veronica's Journal of Madness
Veronica , understandable to be a little stressed at this moment (although I don’t wish it on anyone) given the uncertainty of work. I recently took a 19 month “semi retirement” and found returning to work a struggle. Recruiters are difficult at times and the process for hiring in certain companies ...

Re: Here Goes Nothing………
Thanks for the kind words and comments all. @vernonia - as you’ll find in my next post my outgoings are currently a horrible sight. I live in a HCOL area (Hong Kong) and in years gone by I’ve used this to my advantage to save a lot…… however in recent times the budget has gotten WAY out of control f...

Here Goes Nothing………
Firstly, hello all! I hope you're all safe, healthy, and posts. However, in recent years, my savings rate has drastically decreased, and I have struggled to regain it. See below , it’s bad. Like everyone else, I intend to share my financial and personal situation with the hope of inspiring others to...

Re: Lemur Journal!
Amazing response , thanks Lemur.
I'm long on everything at the moment, OPTIONS interest me as a shorter term strategy for smaller sums.
I like you am close to FI , so risk averse at this stage (well apart from one stock has 38% of my portfolio in it ! hope i'm right).
Keep up the good work.

Re: Lemur Journal!
Funny though ...I logged into my brokerage, wrote a far OTM put on margin, and said "well that covers these expenses for the day." My life feels like on easy mode regardless of w/e happens with spending and I'm eternally grateful for this position in life. Hi Lemur - following your journa...

Hello EREwannabee
Firstly, numbers look VERY GOOD from a frugal point of view , well done! (I can only dream of this at the moment)
Where are you based?
I’ll be starting a journal later this month , look forward to seeing our journeys unfold.

Re: Hello from Hong Kong 🇭🇰
Welcome to the boards. If you can get your hands on a copy of the ERE book (even digital) I strongly recommend giving it an earnest read. It could provide insights and spin the mental wheels in the right direction. Hi @2b1s Downloaded it on kindle this morning , 30% through it already. Look forward...

Re: Hello from Hong Kong 🇭🇰
@seppia YES! Awesome to hear your in HK.
Won’t ask too much here better saved for in person.
Unsure how to contact you directly like @DoF mentioned I’m still in the “limited contact” phase of ERE forums.
Presume posting a email address or phone number isn’t wise either.
(Oh and hi back @DoF)

Re: Hello, thanks for the admission.
@kolibri really interesting read and quote.
Your thoughts seem to be shared with many of FI attempts. We are all wired differently and require different stimulus. Until we dive in a try FI I suppose we never truly know.
Look forward to this in a somewhat near future.

I won’t go into detail here being it’s @2b1s journal but this finding has come at the RIGHT time to kick me back into gear. I’ve read this thread from start to finish in 2 days (literal...
