Re: What are you taking/eating or doing to improve your immunity?
That's really interesting information. I guess taking vaccines helps improve immunity as well.

Didn't know about this. Covid is quite control where I live. Sounds really grim.

I've mostly just been staying away from actual human contact and wear a face mask when I'm out.

Re: Dumpster Diving
My parents are pretty poor, so they've been dumpster diving for decades. I grew up eating dumpster fruits and veggies. There's really a ton of wastage out there. My favourite item from the dumpster that my dad brought home was a pair of technics speakers that seem like it was made in the 80s or 90s....

Re: I sold my car!
Congrats! I think it's a good choice. In my country, cars can only last 10 years and public transport is very efficient in my city, so it's a huge cost. If you live in a city, you will see some benefits of switching to public transport like being able to read a book on the subway, not having to find...

Re: Sleeping problems
I heard a weighted blanket can help you with your sleep.
It is said to provide a pressure that mimics the feeling of being held, which increases serotonin thats improves sleep.

Re: Looming food shortages in China?
China probably doesn't have any problems with food as although they have their own agricultural supplies, they also import. The recently launched reduce food waste campaign is probably to be more self-reliant as Covid has shown that countries shut themselves up from others when in crisis. I live in ...

Re: Facebook for introverts
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbPI2Wo3ZgE I used this video to unfollow almost everybody on my facebook friends list. The news feed is the most toxic. You "hear" all the most negative and positive proclamations from all your FB friends. Their "awesome" fake "living the li...

Re: Comparisons to 1918 Spanish Flu
If measures are not kept in place then I think Covid19 could kill a lot more than the 1918 flu.
Population density is much higher in most cities than before. The world is much more connected, and more people are traveling from continents to continents today due to budget flights.

Re: What are you taking/eating or doing to improve your immunity?
Nothing at all. Whatever I'm doing is already working. I almost never get sick. Haven't had a cold in a long time and I haven't caught the flu since I was a kid. I do make sure to go outside everyday for at least 30 minutes. The Vitamin D is important. I eat fruit everyday. That's very impressive. ...

Re: I'm too frugal
I go for good value instead of cheap. And when something is of good value, I'm fine buying more of it. I recently had to install some monitoring cameras in my home. Instead of buying the branded ones which would cost $1000 including installation, i went for super cheap ones which cost like $100 only...

Do you feel like you're out of breath when you wake up in the middle of the night? Also, I heard lavender essential oils can help with sleep.

Re: What are you taking/eating or doing to improve your immunity?
I've been pondering that, I'll probably take it just because there are so many vulnerable people in my family. Having said that the southern hemisphere doesn't seem to be suffering too much at the moment so I don't expect we will have it that bad this winter. I'm not really sure how our government ...

Re: What are other people's reactions to your living frugally?
@mooretrees That's good. I think being too evangelical over your beliefs kind of turns people away from frugality. My close friend is also cutting down on unnecessities and improving liquidity for investments recently. He's selling his car off and buying a road bicycle which was really surprising to...

Re: What are you taking/eating or doing to improve your immunity?
I've never been a supplement or vitamin person, but (when I remember to) I've been taking zinc and vitamins C and D supplements for the past few months, in addition to trying to be better about exercising regularly and eating lots of veggies. No idea if any of the supplements are worth the money; b...

I guess I'm not entirely happy. Maybe 8/10. But I haven't found what that 2/10 is yet. Maybe when my kid grows up it'll be 10/10 then.

What are you taking/eating or doing to improve your immunity?
With the ongoing pandemic, falling sick during this period is risky whether covid19 or not. Going to the doctor could risk you catching the virus in an environment with lots of sick people gathering together. I've been mostly staying at home and working from home. The last time I fell sick was a col...

Does anyone know any good food or snacks that keep you full, but have low caloric count, and are either easy to access or prepare/make? Hopefully they are also sustainable ERE wise.
