Hey, I also have ADHD and relate to where you're coming from.
The most valuable ADHD resources I have found come from Dr Ned Hallowell, so that's a potential starting point.

Thanks for validating that. Goals: - transition to a nomadic lifestyle - continue locksmithing - get a job as an arborist - make health #1 priority -.introduce slack into my system. Transition from tightly coupled to loosely coupled. I think vanlife is the closest thing to my desired lifestyle at th...

Ah, old ertyu the bridge troll. How I wish to wander thy pestilent lands without being ransacked of my cat photos. I defy thee, knave! (Yeah I’ll post a pic as soon as I figure out how to actually use the forum software) WRT the apprenticeship: I honestly have no idea. I got this job because: 1) I n...

Re: RoamingFrancis' Journal
3 months into a locksmithing career. Really enjoying it so far - the skills I'm learning are really fun. Experiencing the frustrations of working a traditional 9-to-5, but I know that I am making strategic choices, and that my locksmithing apprenticeship is a part of that strategy. One could say I'm...

Thanks for asking!
Yeah, I’ve actually been going through some big life changes recently. The short version is that I started a locksmithing apprenticeship and broke up with my girlfriend….

Re: Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangsta
I’m glad we’re having this conversation. I think that the Thinker vs Feeler idea presented here is a false dichotomy. I experience plenty of both. I have long felt that a lack of addressing emotions is a barrier to ERE for many people but have not been able to articulate this in the logical format t...

Re: RoamingFrancis' Journal
I think this could be a real possibility for me, but my instinct tells me now is not the right time for this. I am learning a lot of food prep from my permaculture gig, and I will have a lot of opportunities to practice cooking for my girlfriend. I have an opportunity on my plate to do a locksmithin...

Re: RoamingFrancis' Journal
Yeah I definitely benefit from structured environments where I can get immediate feedback from a skilled teacher. I actually relate to this most in my meditation practice - I was gifted with a skilled teacher who really helped me get a solid foundation under me. Nowadays I'm more at a plateau with m...

Thank you both! If I had to pick just one to recommend for a forum discussion, it would probably be Recapture the Rapture as I think it presents some useful tools to grapple with the Metacrisis. I've also been reading "the Hunter S. Thompson of Islamic literature," Michael Muhammad Knight,...

Apologies if you've addressed this question on earlier pages, but what advice would you give to others interested in living in Asia?
Do you have roots, home bases, or connection to community in any specific areas, or are you fully nomadic?
Are you fully FI now, or do you still work for income?

Re: RoamingFrancis' Journal
I have been getting paid to help out an older couple living on a permaculture homestead. Projects thus far have mostly included chicken coop repair and simple landscaping. I am learning a ton about plants and the movie nights we have when I visit have been some of the most educational in my life. Be...

Re: Journal from Korea
A Wikipedia search of Beopjeong reveals that both he and Seungsahn are connected to the Jogye Order... so there's some sort of lineage connection there. I really like the poetry excerpt from the page: 자연의 질서에 귀를 기울이고 있으면, 마음에 묻은 때가 조금씩 씻겨나가는 것을 가늠할 수 있다. 이런 날 누구에게도, 그 어떤 것에도 방해받음 없이 적적히 앉아 있으면 그대로가 ...

Welcome! Are you familiar with Zen Master Seung Sahn and the Kwam Um School of Zen? They are a branch of Korean Buddhism that I have done some training in. My girlfriend is obsessed with Korean food and makes incredible soup. I am fascinated to learn about KorEREa, particularly on the thread others ...
