Re: 3.5 hrs of Live Youtube with Paul Wheaton

I enjoyed discussion. Especially internal/external motivation and the need for ”Mr Slappy” was insightful.

Re: On ERE and Mental Health issues

English not being my first language I struggled with the quote, but I found interpretations in the internet. My interpretation of mild depression is from human evolution point of view to be warning signal from subconscious mind declaring that either earlier assumptions (beliefs) and/or decisions (co...

Re: On ERE and Mental Health issues

I have often thought that modern life is too simple in daily activities sense but at the same time mentally challenging in bombardment of all kind of role model advertisement and deeply conflicting news. We have running water, shower, electricity, heating, cooling, transport, ice box, vacuum cleaner...

Re: Retirement endgame

The evidence for my assessment for him being INFJ is as follows: When painting Last Supper, he was said to have studied 2 years in streets of Milan to find proper faces (for expressing the feelings when Jesus brought out the claim that someone will betray him). So he was observing and collecting the...

Re: Updated Cognitive Function Model

Some background information There are three or four primary periods of life that contribute differently to the development of personality (I will stick with three here for simplicity): 1. Birth - Puberty : This stage has a complex relationship with personality. In general, if the child is well care...

Was Leonardo Da Vinci INFJ? I have seen also arguments that he could be INFP because of he had so many incompleted projects.

Re: Retirement endgame

Leonardo da Vinci museum in Piazza del Popolo in Rome. This was a good museum with annotated storyline of Leonardo. He was born outside of marriage by a jurist and a maid, so he had no noble background nor big money. During whole his life he needed a host/protector, so he was never independent. In a...

Re: Retirement endgame

One of my principles in management was trying to avoid being first to say “no”. I always waited in meetings that somebody else would say no and only after that let my negative stance to be known. So I tried to avoid throwing the first stone. The reason was to avoid enemies. It hurts people big-time ...

Re: Vaikeasti to ERE - Family Journal

When I have to make decisions and choices I try to formulate them in a form of two-dimensional value-analysis table. The columns are quality of life (QoL) criteria, i.e what you want to achieve in life, such as more free time, cost saving, increase income, less travel, environment, spirituality, com...

I like Tuscany and Piemonte regions in Italy because they have maintained local economy intact. They have agricultural and tourism business that works with local companies and cooperatives. Most of the wineyards, hotels and restaurants are family businesses. Perhaps the best place to understand this...

Re: Call Out to HSP INFJs: what makes you feel content/useful?

Life is on track if I have peace of mind. In R&D I hated quality system which forced traceability to all decision making, which reduced risk taking to minimum, which then made difficult to be creative. In education I like creating and passing the knowledge and skills to next generation. I used to wo...

Anything I have written in this thread up to now is generic with no pointing to anyone. I am writing this with explicit suggestion by Suo and Jacob. The headline was not chosen by me.

Re: The Thread Where Nuuka Schools Suo About How Suo is a Socio

How to communicate with narcistic person? The key is to share as little knowledge about yourself as possible. Do not tell what you intend, do not tell who your friends are, do not tell what you like, etc. This is because the more tools the narcist has to work on you to get the grip hold. If narcist ...

Re: The Thread Where Nuuka Schools Suo About How Suo is a Sociopath

What to do when you suspect that someone close to you might have narcistic behaviour patterns? Well, first priority is to protect yourself from mental overload. This means putting shields up, taking distance or cutting communication. Sometimes it is not possible to cut the exposure to communication ...

Re: The Thread Where Nuuka Schools Suo About How Suo is a Sociopath

How to recognise narcistic person? Basically the only way is through passage of time. Otherwise you cannot tell. Why is it like this? Because narcistic persons are able compensate for the lack of sensing emphathy. It is only over time that there are circumstances that they don’t have experience or m...
