I highly doubt it. Spend more time with my NRA buddies on the range instead of tourist activities.

Re: Warning: WH seeks to limit/deport immigrants using ACA and other gov. services

The White House seems to ignore what is written at the Statue of Liberty site.

" Give us your tired, your poor, huddled masses yearning to be free "

November 2020, the voters will not be silent.

Re: On the risk of investing in real estate for the long run

There are always risks in real estate investing and stock investing. Some savvy investors I know in FL do well in both areas. They continue to buy depressed foreclosed or for sale homes and condos, have a team of illegal labor force of hard working guys give the homes a good makeover inside and out,...

In Florida and in a number of states, it's "Stand your ground" law. Come at me with aggression and I will defend myself.

Re: Warning: WH seeks to limit/deport immigrants using ACA and other gov. services

The voters in November 2020 presidential election will voice their support or non support in limiting immigrants into the USA. The guy in the White House pipe dream is selective wishing to have higher income and more educated immigrants come to the USA. It's going to be a hard sell since our country...

Re: On the risk of investing in real estate for the long run

Buying the most expensive house, renting rooms out, managing the operations, - no thanks , don't need the stress and BS that go along with it. Buying into index mutual funds monthly regardless of share price is proven at least to me to be far exceeding in increasing my net worth in the last 30 years...

Re: Article:Former hedge fund manager more fulfilled in prison

The hedge fund guy's time in prison really changed his outlook. Instead of being the partly stuck up 1%_WASP that thumbs their noses on the pee-ons of the world, he visits prisoners. I've been to Greenwich CT. It's the most stuck up atmosphere of rich elite I have ever seen.

Re: On the risk of investing in real estate for the long run

It's GREAT to live in Florida. My home has more than doubled in value living in it for the last 20 plus years. Why it's GREAT. My property taxes that I pay annually for the last 20 plus years has been $1,300 a year give or take a few hundred dollars a year depending on the tax bill I receive every N...

Re: Article:Former hedge fund manager more fulfilled in prison

Interesting read. I have read on former inmates get another chance on life while in jail, to improve their health ( working out a lot), partner and network with fellow inmates, and for some, rehabilitate themselves with prison support. In regards to jail and developing friendships, watch the movie &...

Re: On the risk of investing in real estate for the long run

One thing I have learned and have been taught. To ever think about going to FIRE, be debt free and mortgage free before taking the leap. Helps me sleep better at night and limits the " what ifs". Owning and renting is never a sure thing so it is a personal choice.

@Odin Welcome. What are your expenses? Own or rent? I'm sure living in the Bay Area is super expensive either way. Does your company have to a 401k? Do you drive or take public transportation? Do you have a lot of outstanding debt? If I were you I would invest in index diversified mutual funds, live...

Re: On the risk of investing in stocks for the long run

Investing in diversified index mutual funds monthly regardless of share price and market conditions is how I FIREd. If I did not, I would still be a slave to work and debt like the masses in the USA.

Holy crap and news media not even making incident a big news story. Must have been a slow news day. The manager pulled the fire alarm...

True on subject of international nurses in USA. They are generally paid less than nurses that schooled in USA with same qualifications. And some international nurses I know live -- 6 ladies in a 1 bedroom apt, working overnight shifts for more pay and send a good amount of their income back home to ...

Re: My thoughts

White collar vs blue collar , been there done that. White collar may get paid more but one must deal more with the BS corporate culture and in layoffs, usually the first to go. Blue collar may get paid less but don't need to deal with the more stress and politics of white collar. Blue collar are the...
