Re: Midsize Lebowski would love it if you'd come and give him notes on Semi-ERE

This is probably not the forum to receive risk-taking encouragement in but I'm going to write it out here because this journal is personally quite helpful for thought and I appreciate/respect the opinions of you all here. The thought processes everyone's feedback has encouraged over the past couple ...

Re: Midsize Lebowski would love it if you'd come and give him notes on Semi-ERE

Are you from here or moving here? I live in Southern MD. Working from home but like most folk here, commute up to DC for decent wages. From there, grew up and lived around/in Baltimore until 23 so up until 6 years ago. Good luck and don't take that damn job, give this semi-ERE a shot. @ mooretrees ...

Re: Midsize Lebowski would love it if you'd come and give him notes on Semi-ERE

Welcome to my life. Well, the way I read it, you are deciding between taking a job you probably won't like, but pays pretty decent, and starting a business you really want to try. In the second option, you'll fund your cashflow needs with an already established part-time business, but likely...

The Art of Seduction by Robert Greene comes to mind as a "PUA" book without the misogyny.

Re: Midsize Lebowski would love it if you'd come and give him notes on Semi-ERE

In my own journal I echoed the sentiment that although I was planning to build resiliency over the next 5-10 years, I feel a need to do it much more quickly now that we have a real crisis. I've thought about homesteading as well; I would want to find a good group of friends to do it with though. ER...

Re: How to make more money without much of any schooling?

Personal trainer here, I made 71k last year and 63 the year before, 56 the year prior. COVID situation has me looking at ~25-35k this year if things continue  . It can be a lucrative business when approached as one, you'll end up making the choice of becoming a high income (100-250k+) small bus...

Re: Midsize Lebowski would love it if you'd come and give him notes on Semi-ERE

"A couple things of note" ... that turned out to be an understatement! We're in central California, and have been under "shelter in place" orders since last Wednesday. DGF's work has closed and she is now unemployed w/ the exception of ~5 hrs/week online store management for her ...

Re: Midsize Lebowski would love it if you'd come and give him notes on Semi-ERE

Thanks C_L, I came to a similar conclusion in reviewing the journals of others who are fully FI and pursuing semi-ere (yourself, Gin & Juice, BSOG, etc.). In studying journals and in reflection it's became apparent that my objectives have nothing to do with total sloth enabled by a mythical numb...

Re: Midsize Lebowski would love it if you'd come and give him notes on Semi-ERE

C_L you have read my mind sir. We're leaning heavily into RV/van as an intermediate solution, and cob/packed earth/yurt in a permaculture oasis is currently the carrot at the end of this working-man's stick long term. Much can happen, assuming ol' Duder get's his shit together on the spending front ...

I'd suggest David Holmgren's Permaculture Principles as well for future reading particularly for theory and application outside of agriculture. Cheers Francis, will be keeping up with your journal!

Re: Midsize Lebowski would love it if you'd come and give him notes on Semi-ERE

Aside/note to self: goal for this journal in 2020 is to organize things- reading C40's front to back has inspired! Will finalize some metrics, standardize a journal format and use this as a tool rather than haphazard brain dump. I can't even make sense of some of the number's I slapped up here and m...

Re: Midsize Lebowski would love it if you'd come and give him notes on Semi-ERE

Hello mooretrees! Thanks for your input, cool to hear she's doing well as a PTA. It's definitely a field I'd expect to thrive in all conditions as well which may not be the case for my current. What setting is she in? My brother is a PT in a sports-rehab facility, I worked as an aide at a general ou...
