Doing nothing could be a choice, a potentially sub-optimal one.

Re: ERE VS communism
When communism has been attempted to be implemented in the past it has failed. Perhaps those failure points can be resolved and it would work. Even though capitalism has worked out relatively well, in practice it has flaws too in my opinion, maybe those can be fixed too. Sid will entertain BRUTE's v...

Thoughts from a distraught individual
I get the feeling that most of the people on this forum are far from the norm (not necessarily good or bad). Reasons for this assertion are: ERE is uncommon and very different than the average ways of life, intelligence here is significantly higher than the norm, and generally rare personalities (in...

Re: MBTI as a disorder/disease
On MBTI as a disorder/disease: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nG_fAhk3ZGc -- good content source, thanks Daylen At the 18:54 mark the guy makes a point related to thinking about the MBTI as a disorder/disease. It is that there are 4 parts of the mind, the ego, unconscious, subconscious, and supereg...

Re: ERE VS capitalism
One thing I always ask my friends is: Would it be better to improve the system we have, or implement a whole new system? They usually say try to fix the one we have (as an enfj friend recently said). I would rather see a new one put in place (an an intj friend of mine thinks), it seems like jennypen...

Re: MBTI as a disorder/disease
This makes me think, is it better to exploit one's strengths, or improve weaknesses? I think play to strengths most of the time, but sometimes work on decreasing weakness.

When I was in kindergarden my friend and I went to the cubbies that everyone had and we broke everybody's pencils. The situation was resolved and at this point in time it was 1 out of 1000000 events that make me who I am now. This situation does seem like retro-active punishment, if it is probably t...

Re: Jeff Bezos has a plan
Also reducing energy usage per time would increase the amount of time we have. I think that is what "Scale" is getting at, in the future, incorporating models of scale and exponential growth inherent in the nature of cities and businesses so that they may be better and more efficiently des...

I would say that this housing score is gives a good general idea of your situation, you could make your own scheme with all the things you find important and weight them appropriately.

Re: Jeff Bezos has a plan
Based on what I have learned from "Scale", In order for humans to colonize space, innovation must grow at an accelerated pace so that it may beat the super linear growth and energy consumption of humans. If this does not happen we are screwed, not only in terms of space colonization but al...

This distraction diverts people's time and attention from doing things of substance and working together. Also some businesses are designed to absorb as ...
