Re: Free Speech: Thank You Jacob

This topic reminds me of a book I finished last week "The Coddling of the American Mind"
highly recommended. Not a left/right book. Some have mischaracterized it as a right wing book as it criticizes the college protest trends.

Re: flour storage buckets

I use mylar bags before I put stuff in buckets and then seal them usually with o2 absorber inside.
Gamma lids do make things easy to get in and out but if you aren't getting in them daily then I don't think they are worth the extra cost.

Re: So, is Pence in Control at the Moment?

I'm a Pharmacist and I work at a large hospital that has seen a large number of coronavirus patients. Dexamethasone-Ya, possibly causes euphoria and mood swings but as with all side effects it doesn't effect everyone the same and dose matters. The Dose for covid is 6 mg daily. For reference, the dos...

Re: BBs and lead shot for clock ballast

if you go with lead shot or bb's there should be no legal restriction on them as they aren't loaded ammunition. I used to get wheel weights from tire shops but they would charge me like 50 cents a pound or something like that. Some states have banned the lead wheel weights and only use zinc weights ...

Re: bug-out bags. do you have one?

Read Cody Lundin's 98.6 degrees and apply his info to a bugout bag instead of just hiking -if you can put scan important documents onto a thumb drive add that -my philosophy is to err on the side of lightness if walking is on the menu. You tube is full of videos where peoples bugout bags are overly ...

Re: Anyone make their own yogurt?

I make lots of yogurt in my instapot. When it's finished it's runny, strain in fridge with a tea towel over a colander set in a mixing bowl. Then I add whey back into it until it's the consistency that I want. I don't add any flavoring, just plain ol' yogurt. I've never tried without boiling milk fi...

An alternative to the soldering iron/zip tie would be PTEX like used for ski repair.

options trading education

My job gives me alot of free time in front of the computer so I thought it'd be nice to finally educate myself on something that I've very little understanding of and curious about. Anyone have any recommendations on what to read or video lectures on learning about options trading. I know it's a ris...

Re: "Why do the poor stay poor and the rich get richer?"

the poor stay poor because they do what it is that makes them poor. The rich get richer because they continue to do what makes them rich.

millionaire next door shows the behavior pretty well.

Watch how much money poor people blow at walmart.

Re: The wonders of wool coats in the snow

solution for snow might be a stiff bristle brush. I think maybe these coats were originally meant for use in the drier/colder climates where snow is easily dusted off. Fall in the snow in Alaska and you're still dry, too cold to stick.

$13/mo for unlimited everything on TracFone? You sure about that?
$13 for limited. It gets 500 minutes, 1000 texts, and 500mb data that rollover. My fiance and I use hangouts for talk and text and I have wifi at work and home so the limits aren't an issue.

Re: The coffee problem

@Noal I use regular coffee in a similar device. I was going to buy one of those but my fiance pointed out that we have like 8 different coffee devices already. It should work with plain old coffee though. At home I use either drip or a moka pot which I love love love. but for work french press, one ...

Re: I still have a dumb phone...considering a smart phone!

I picked up a samsung s7 from ebay for use with trac phone. Trac phone runs me 13 dollars a month for limited talk data and text. I use hangouts for texting which doesn't use my text msg limit. I hardly use any data away from my home wifi. It's a perfect setup for me. I listen to audiobooks on it ev...
