Hawaii seems to have minimal cases, unsurprisingly. (I thought Rhode Island should then I realised most of it isn't actually an island)
I looked this up today and Hawaii seems to be having an uptick in cases which is really surprising because they have locked down harder than any state.

Shorted $TSLA today (pure gamble play). This is craziness.
That ended poorly. Good thing I put a stop in and didn't lose my ass. It's only getting crazier.

Re: Evaluating Job Opportunities

@Alphaville No, I am vested now. There is a "cash" amount that you receive if you decide to leave early. If you happen to leave with 31 years, you do take a significant hit on the future payouts. Once someone has 20+ years in, there is almost no way they can leave without taking a hit. @jacob My cur...

@flying_pan

I am 10 years into a 32-year requirement for the pension. I'll be 56 if I stay for the full 32 years.

Re: Evaluating Job Opportunities

@AnanlyticalEngine That's a good idea. I will definitely check out the company more and try to talk to some of the employees. @ertyu I have been thinking about your comment all afternoon. I think you hit the nail on the head. For whatever reason, I have this feeling I "should" always accept more mon...

Re: The AirBnB and house hacking bubbles

I love Uber and AirBnB. They have their downsides but, in my opinion, are way better than the highly regulated industries they are displacing.

Re: Investments Trade Log

I agree with Jason's assessment; don't forget cruises. I bought Disney several years ago when my inlaws planned a trip for $10k. I thought $10k was crazy. The response, "but it's Disney"

Disney will never stop making money with the cult following they have.

Re: How much do you give to charity?

We only started it a couple years ago when our combined salaries reached $150K. Having already maxed out all of our retirement options with plenty leftover we thought why not?

It has only been a few thousand dollars a year but the next big raise will make it much more.
