The issue there is then that I am still conditioning myself on "success" and immediately start thinking how I can improve the situation or keep it going. I think this mental jump is what I want to cut out.
Let me know if you found something that works :D

I'm sorry, I have a bad habit of purposely misinterpreting somebody's post for the sake of comic relief :D

Re: disk_poets road towards semi-ERE

"Enjoy the journey" is a very good point and something I struggle with. I think it is one of the skills/traits that I want to develop but I am stumped on how to go about it. (...) Do you have any insights here? Is that something that comes easy to you? Thanks again for the nudge. Honestly, it is so...

Re: Hello!

Welcome :)

I'd be interested to read your reasoning behind starting studying to switch fields, as I find myself in the same position.

Good luck!

Welcome neighbour!

Sounds like you already have the right mindset and are taking action to reach your goals. Don't forget to enjoy the journey and be happy with the things you have changed/reached.

Re: Mae & FrugalPatat's Journey

Hiya Sabaka!! I certainly feel drawn to help out the local community/ies, especially ones that suffer from covid the most. I also want to secure some sort of income for myself. So kind of hoping that after my leave and some work on my self, a couple things fall into place. I have a teacher's license...

Re: Mae & FrugalPatat's Journey

Thank you, classical_Liberal! It was a difficult decision to quit this job for a plethora of reasons, but I had to do it to preserve some of my sanity I had left. There are some things I can conclude from my 'career' so far. Let me put on my work-philosophical glasses :ugeek: FrugalPatat's and my fi...

Re: Mae & FrugalPatat's Journey

Hmm, I should probably also add that I am giving up all my volunteering and social media for some time after I leave my job. This is because: a) My volunteering and social media accounts are tightly connected to the job I am leaving c) I don't feel like my social media accounts have much added value...

Re: Mae & FrugalPatat's Journey

So I may or may not have quit my job. (I did.) I still have to work my leave and am concerned with how (slow) the administrative process will be, but I already feel a bit more free from the frustrations of this particular job and work culture. Now to bridge that awkward time until I'm officially don...

Re: Raw, whole-food, plant-based diet?

Cooking changes the nutritional profile of foods. Some nutrients are more bio-available after cooking. Just because something is raw, that doesn't mean it is superior. A kidney bean that has not been boiled, is quite poisonous, for instance. As a vegan who would love for people to eat plant-based i...

Welcome to the forums. I felt I needed to post here because I am also vegan and child-free, as is my husband FrugalPatat who is also on here. ☐ 2090 - Die, probably Had to smile at that. If I may provide some feedback: I think your plan consists of ... goals, and therefore isn't really a plan becaus...

Re: What do you reuse/repurpose/upcycle?

Any paper wrapping, envelopes, ... I can write on for shopping lists. Before I throw away anything, I ask myself (not "does this spark joy?" but) "can I use this in any way for the pets?" Repurposed boxes for storage, also cut the top and bottom off and used it to separate clothing (socks, underwear...

Congrats on getting rid of the cars! That's huge. Partner and I are also car-free and have been for 4-5 years. So do you go everywhere by public transport and bike or ... ? I'm curious.

Here's to 55% by 2021 :-)
