Learning languages

Hi All, Apart from Duolingo, I wanted to recommend Italki. It is a great website with plenty of professioanl and conversational teachers for any language. Prices can go from $6 to $30/hour. There is plenty for $12/hour. I will start my first French class next Saturday. Please, share other tools you ...

Re: Let's go Back Home - Frugal chicos journal

@MEDFIRE2024 My biggest concern/trouble is myself. I am my biggest problem. My challenge is keeping it optimistic and continue with energy during the journey. There is days I have some overwhelming homesick feelings that are hard to control. It makes me sad not being close to my aging parents (my fa...

Re: Let's go Back Home - Frugal chicos journal

After two days of feeling down, I decided this is the last time. I am also determined that I will give all I have to pursue the following: - I will succeed no matter what. I will go back home in 2020 as planned. I will achieve this goal I set 2 years ago. - I will be happy starting from today, no ma...

Re: Five Years, Lord Willing

My neighbor parked all day and night in my spot so I threw eggs all over his car and winshield. I also left a note informing him that next time his car would be towed. He was lucky I didn't wake up at 4am to smash all his windows as I planned. Perhaps this viking beard I'm growing is making me think...

I plan on having kids, and that's an important point in my retirement hurry, because of the time limit for woman.
I am on the same boat.

Re: Visualizing Early Retirement

Hi There,

In my case, writing a journal helps to see where we are going, track the achievements and keep the motivation up.

Your pictures inspired me to do a wall of ERE where I will have pictures of recent trips to Spain (planning in moving there), camping trips and NW forecast!

Re: Let's go Back Home - Frugal chicos journal

Is getting colder (at least in freakin Chi-beria), and I thought a good recipe might come handy: Baked Peaches: - Cut as many peaches as you want in half, remove the pit and place them upside down in a baking pan. - Sprinkle some brown sugar and cinnamon on top. - Dash of Grand Marnier - a coffee sp...

@Jason

Thanks Jason, we are heading out Spring 2020 anyways. So our game is more about how much we can accumulate by that time. Anyways, we calculate FI at 350K and ERE at 500K.

Yep, I categorized the dental work under the same line as you...mine was a crown.

Isn't it amazing when your co-workers spend $15 in shitty-for sure will give you a heart attack meals every day? and then they drive to the gas station to buy a Starbucks frapuccino (they can even stay awake after eating that shit) that could have enough calories to maintain somebody alive without e...

Re: Five Years, Lord Willing

Good Morning Jason, As you said, being negative is just a trained habit. Sometimes being positive means protecting yourself of being overexposed to the news channels, reading too much about how the world is doing (there is always some short of apocalyptic/the sky is falling feeling going on). Or per...

Screwed up the 1 year challenge without buying any clothes. Bought 2 pairs of sweatpants and a corduroy Sherpa jacket that I wanted to buy for a while. Re: Chicago summer meet up 2017

Alright guys,

What about if we meet on 9/9 on Foster Beach at about 12pm?

I can bring a small bbq grill and make some brats and burgers. And if it is nice enough, we can swim after drinking a couple of beers.

Re: Let's go Back Home - Frugal chicos journal

Personal Note: Feel great about Chico & Chica. Confident we will achieve whatever we dream of. I feel relaxed and happy, letting a big beard grow. Is it my mid 30's crisis? who cares! Also, we have been thinking in changing our investments allocation to a more conservative one. Hell no, we are here ...
