Re: 2 weeks to go Back Home - Frugal chicos journal

Finished the Chicago half marathon in 2 hours and 2 minutes. I think I underestimated myself and could have run it at least 7 minutes faster. It was kind of hard at the beginning since I was stuck in a corral with a much slower pace than mine. I could barely move or pass anybody until mile 3-4. I fi...

Re: European mates: Diesel or Gas?

@Finity Yeah, the local DMV records the kms every year and that is something they cannot modify. Also, Audi, Mercedes, BMW or whatever brand has a digital record similar to what you mentioned. I am only looking for cars that have all the maintenance done in the dealership, the kms are certified and ...

Re: European mates: Diesel or Gas?

Yes, there are electric cars in Europe. However, they are quite expensive in the second hand market.

Hey, don’t miss some pintxos at Gure Toki. Amazing plqce in the Plaza Nueva in Bilbao!

Re: European mates: Diesel or Gas?

Thanks guys, I am definitely set on German cars. I find them attractive, reliable and very popular (meaning that every mechanic can fix them and parts are easy to find). I am also considering a Mercedes Benz E Class 220 CDI Avantgarde from 2004 in immaculate condition for 7,000 euros with 93,000kms ...

European mates: Diesel or Gas?

Hi there, Moving in a few weeks back to Europe and I am looking at buying a car. I am actually interested in buying a used Audi A4 avant from 2007 with about 110,000kms for like 6,500-7,000 euros.I like the 2.0 TDI or the 1.8 Turbo. I saw plenty of them in good shape and with those characteristics. ...

I feel pumped! Half marathon training is coming along pretty well. I run 10.56 miles on Saturday in like about 1:20 hours, at about 7.57" average pace. Today I run 4 miles in 31 minutes and 52 seconds at an average pace of 7'56" (yeah, it feels amazing passing by the bus stop where everybody is star...

Re: Star*Bucks ERE Journal

Hi there,

I always find good deals on Nike shoes on eBay. If you already know your size, you can always find brand new shoes with or withouy the box for nearly half the price. I have been doing that for years and I also get to sell my old shoes for like $15-$25.

Good luck with it!!

Re: 2 months to go Back Home - Frugal chicos journal

Good news, just sold the car for $5,200. A little lower than expected, but happy it is gone. We will also save the parking rent and insurance from now on ($200/month).

Planning in investing $1,500 and keeping the rest in cash for future investments.

Re: 2 months to go Back Home - Frugal chicos journal

@ Gilberto de Piento The cash is from when we sold our condo and received our principal payout. We invested some and put the rest in a money saver account (yielding 2.41% return) since the stock market was very high at the time, and still is. We've kept it as cash for now because we want some liquid...

" That’s GREAT!! How was the online TEFL course? Would you say it was easy, moderate, or difficult?"

I would say it was fairly easy (even with English not being my mother tongue). However, you do have to put some time in to finish it. Feel free to send me a private if you have any question!
