Re: Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg (Discussion + Book Club Meeting)
By default, my brain is wired to be self centred, assign malice to others and be pessimistic (thank you, my Eastern European overbearing borderline narcissistic mother). So I don't know if I sharing my thoughts and feelings is good at all. This inevitably limits the depth of relationships you can d...

Re: What is ERE2?
To summarize the above: Complex Adaptive Systems are alive. I have contemplated on mapping the different sectors of our global economy to my own body to a remarkable degree. I found: Mining & AG = digestive tract, cardiovascular system = transportation networks, nervous system = communication ne...

Re: Textile MMG
June last year, DGF and I got a bunch of free wool from sheep and alpaca. We originally intended to use the wool as mulch for the garden. Things have taken a bit of a turn. The really filthy bits went into the garden. The nicer bits we started spinning and felting. In the past six months, we have fe...

Re: Dutch 2022 Summer meet-up
I'm interested as well. Though I'm not sure yet if I'm able to come. Traveling time and costs are my main concerns which bring me to the following: If anyone else is joining from the Dutch south or Belgian north (I'm from Eindhoven), contact me to see if we can share a ride.

Re: The ERE Wheaton Scale
@jacob, So the problem at level 9 becomes more a question of: "How do I identify individuals at the same level of systems integration?" or, reversed: "How do I advertise my level of systems integration so others at the same level can find me?" Maybe you're not the right person to...

Re: What is the most useful journaling exercise?
I have been doing daily morning pages for almost three years now. It's a practice I picked up from Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way . It involves writing three pages of longhand, stream of consciousness early in the morning. I typically write just after waking up in the morning. I rarely read my wri...

Re: The ERE Wheaton Scale
I have been looking at NVC in relation to the ERE Wheaton levels. NVC talks about universal (human) needs . We all have them and each person will develop different strategies for getting their needs met. Conflict arises when a strategy interferes with the need(s) of another person. By finding the ab...

Re: Something From Nothing Log
The way I understand kombucha is: the yeasts in the SCOBY turn sugars into alcohol + CO₂, then the bacteria in the SCOBY turn the alcohol + O₂ into acids. Take away the oxygen, as you do in any alcohol fermentation, the conversion into acids will not happen and you are left with carbonated alcohol. ...

Re: What happened to avatars?
Actually it is due to a recent upgrade of phpBB. I'm not sure what exactly changed. The previous option for loading and using avatars got removed. If I have to venture a guess, linking remote images got more and more unreliable. Jacob and I have enabled uploading a (small) image file (JPEG or PNG) f...
