Re: What metrics do you keep on yourself, or your daily practices?

Oh I haven't ever used the results, or have a plan to. I just enjoy doing it and sometimes read stuff from 1 year ago with DW and say "Haha, remember when I was all SAD in February and then the sun came out and I got happy again?"

Re: What metrics do you keep on yourself, or your daily practices?

Only quantified metric is net worth/expenses on a monthly basis. Qualitative though: Gratitude Journal - 3 to 6 things that were excellent or that I am grateful for from that day. Been doing it for about 1.5 years and I like it a lot. Worked out or not - binary yes/no. Usually with a brief descripti...

Re: SustainableHappiness Journal

Interestingly enough we actually tried the property manager thing for the first year, and although we may have had a bad sample size of 1. The manager still contacted us for all decisions and generally had a larger associated cost with each fix that was required. The useful thing they did was show t...

Re: A Journey of Mindfulness--the Remaking of Life in Midstream.

Amen on the not wanting to deal with being a landlord (slight slumlord in my case). After 2.5 years of it, DW and I have made the same decision and are exiting real estate entirely and moving to a rent only lifestyle.

As long as you are rockin' on, keep on rockin'.

Re: A Journey of Mindfulness--the Remaking of Life in Midstream.

Hi IlliniDave, I enjoy reading your journal for it's thoughtfulness about an entirely different life stage from my own and I think you are kicking ass. That being said if you need encouragement "as time rushes forward to my anticipated separation day", based on your numbers and your attitude (from t...

What about pets? What are examples of healthy diets for them? Is a WFPB diet good for some pets and not others?
Yes, you can eat them too if you aren't WFPB.

Chickens, dogs, turtles if cooked right, DON'T EAT PET ROCKS.

Bad for plump tasty pets.

I have a sneaking suspicion this thread has a higher troll/non troll ratio than usual. I also may not really understand the definition of troll. Brute is also a brutal troll.

I might be able to give a little insight into RE as an investment strategy. However my exposure is limited to southwestern Ontario in Canada, so if you're American it may be slightly irrelevant. I currently own two duplexes with experience in severing properties and rezoning. Fun fact, I am currentl...

Sure. Side effects may include, an abundance of passion (secondary effects = rash decision making and a tendency to injury) and a larger than ERE average expense directed towards social activities.

As mentioned previously monitor the landscape for a while before really engaging in the game (the time will vary based on the person). Then, be kind, but make it known you will not engage in unnecessary work, of course don't make it known vocally (never say you aren't going to do anything, just give...
