Re: Lemur Journal!

Started playing tennis every Tuesday with my good friend. Slowly but surely trying to build a life that is outside work. Second week in a row I went for Sunday one hour jogs. In interesting home life...my younger brother who I've not seen and barely talked to in 5 years and his spouse who I never me...

Re: Regrets, I've had a few.

I used to have a Sergeant in the military that for whatever damn reason just did not like me and I did not like him either. But one day his car broke down on the side of the road and I picked him up on the way to work. He begrudgingly took the ride anyway lol but I just so happened to be listening t...

Re: Exercise/Fitness Log

@Dave

I love walking but don't know if I could do it for that long! Would be a nice way to get through an audio book or something.

I managed to stick to my routine this week; despite a few of those days just not really feeling like it.

Re: Investments Trade Log

1.) MAC $17 CCs expired worthless today. Thanks for the cheese market. Ready to set up another one next Monday for same strike price. Turns out this company has terrible management and I wish I never bought it. Long story short - they diluted shares to pay off their debt and gain liquidity (fine) bu...

Re: Exercise/Fitness Log

Went on a 1 hour jog today - haven't done any real cardio like that in months. I have fantastic cardio regardless - years of being a former distance runner / military have taught me how to control my pace and heart rate. I'm mostly getting back into an exercise routine to develop my fitness but also...

Re: Anyone managed to decrease their susceptibility to colds?

Can't advise here because I almost never get sick. So no anecdotal evidence to reducing cold symptoms but I think my lifestyle may help prevent it in the first place. No flues, no colds...nothing. My lifestyle is healthy (by American standards) as I'm right on the cusp of normal weight / overweight ...

Re: Investments Trade Log

Closed out my shorts on BAC at $41 strike expiring 4/16. Good move as I was able to close for a small profit and eliminate the risk of capping upside. BAC is up 7.14% in the past month and continues to increase 8 days until earnings call. I did the same with AAPL...closed out my CCs. Starting to see...

Re: Western Red Cedar's Journal

Good luck with your new opportunity! I'm still finding my footing and comfortability in my new role as well. I love the autonomy, leadership, and free reign of creative control rather then having to follow someone else's checklists. I used to have all sorts of ideas as the worker bee but never wante...

Re:

=jacob I dunno, I'm still concerned about the World3 model showing systemic collapse around 2020-2030. That should be the end of consumerism. This means that the DIY aspect of ERE will become important. Real returns in the financial markets will simply go negative. However unlike my past doomer sel...

Re: Learning From My Crypto Mistake

Risk to us is 1) the risk of permanent loss of capital, or 2) the risk of inadequate return. I like this quote. It reminds me that volatility can be welcomed if you believe that you bought your investment at a decent price and you're 100% confident the investment cannot go bankrupt. It is what is k...

Re: Lemur Journal!

Yep - that is where the caffeine addiction started was when I was in the military. Very common for folks to have a monster energy drink in the morning before/after physical training...and sometimes during lunch too haha. I worked in construction so the extra boost was always nice. But I don't need a...

Solid plan. Cybersecurity is very hot right now. BTW your clearance will really help you in the job market too if you decide get into contracting/government work...it was for me at least - my ticket into white collar office work with full-time benefits.

If you play it right, you could eliminate your debt just using the gi-bill monthly stipend and come out with a degree on the other end - probably around the same time. Prior military here as well - that GI bill is nice ! :D It made my life so much easier when I left the military years ago. What are ...

Thanks. Work has gotten overall better though this new role is having its on cons I did not foresee. Will save that for later post. I quit caffeine totally. I'm on day 3 but already feeling better day to day. Headaches, fatigue, general feelings of moodiness / depression I think. The latter might be...

I'm at all-time records...in bad way. Almost down 50% on one stock :o I'm gonna hold out for the post-covid mall recovery though. MAC could even be a potential buyout target at these prices...anyway never before have I seen a negative $15k on one stock. Also down on my short put position in PLTR. I ...
