Re: Investments Trade Log

- Shares called away on AMD last Friday for $80 a share but bought back in for $80.90 and more covered calls for $87.50 strike in a month. The premiums made on the covered calls were enough to cover the upside I lost from the shares called away. - Loving covered calls on Nokia. I made $1400 in premi...

Re: A Jacob Mention

@ertyu I like this perspective. Thanks for sharing. I think you finished connecting the dots for me in regards to my last paragraph - I was heading that way at least. I wish our education system growing up taught all economic systems more in depth - in America, one only learns and ingrains one syste...

Re: A Jacob Mention

Referring to Alphaville's post on page one about ERE being anti-capitalist...To some extent, I also believed that the logical conclusion of ERE would be anti-capitalist. So I thought - okay socialism it is then and I started diving in to some material. I watched lectures from Michael Parenti/Richard...

Re: Investments Trade Log

Well I took a chance on this AMC but I'm glad I am off this ride. I closed out my longs for a loss at opening this morning right before a 17% run-up (my timing could not have been more luckier) and then used the proceeds to purchase $29 puts to cover my short puts in the odd case AMC takes a dive th...

Re: UAPs .. This changes everything?

@Lucky C I think the Occam's Razor still applies here. There is not enough evidence even from the video to conclude on anything. My personal opinion...the more I think about the media hype on this, the more I think it is a grift by military industrial complex lobbying to acquire more funding for def...

Re: Investments Trade Log

Did not get the morning AMC crash I was hoping for and since IV is still elevated, I decided to change the dynamics of my position to a put calendar spread. https://www.fidelity.com/learning-center/investment-products/options/options-strategy-guide/long-calendar-spread-puts So I freed up $9k in capi...

Re: Investments Trade Log

Yep - That is what I was thinking. Speculating here for sure but with this being so volatile + IV crush, I’m best served dumping these at the next dip. Hopefully get a pre-market dump.

@2Birds1Stone Perhaps. But you know with corporate jobs its always the next carrot. I thought about job-hopping to get in the $120-$130k salary range but I don't think it is worth it at this time... - I work fully remote from home. - I get complete creative control over my product. - I am not micro-...

Re: Investments Trade Log

I almost never buy long calls or puts by themselves but this one seems too easy. I fully expect management to dilute the shareholders and everyone to dump and take profits. This is a classic pump and dump. For $11.15 a contract, I purchased 2 puts on AMC for August 20, 2021 expiration (wanted to giv...

Re: Lemur Journal!

@White Belt I lived in military dorms for 4-5 years or so before finally getting enough rank to have my own place outside base. Also lived in small spaces / tents overseas. Wasn't all bad actually. It was nice to be able to clean your shelter in less than 10 minutes. :) Having confined spaces also f...

Re: Can I retire with 4 children?

Well you're at a 3.45% withdrawal rate. ($39,690/$1.35mil). I see 3 options here: 1.) You can retire now. Kids will have to fund their own education. As the saying goes: "Scholarships or Warships." 2.) If you intend to fully fund college for all 4 kids...you'd probably need to keep working...

Re: What Do You Eat for Weight Loss?

Yeah I'm back to calorie counting as well. The non-calorie counting method wasn't working out. Just need to make sure one is filled up with protein/fiber to make it as satiating as possible. What also has helped me was using an actual app this time around instead of just my rolling calculator. This ...

https://www.yahoo.com/news/im-21-live-72-square-192902837.html Damn that is a tight space but actually does not sound terrible if you're single and have a high paying job in one of these VHCOL situations. Your room would literally be the place you sleep/shower. You'd own very little possessions and ...

Re: AE's Journal Round 5 - Finding Freedom To

Good Journal Topic. Freedom To is tough to figure out when you're still working a 9-5 job. I took a 6 day work break which has been nice but its impossible to dig into anything for the long-term because its not so much a freedom to...its just a temporary break and wait around period until work start...

May 29, 2021 Net-worth: $443,000 (Up $11,000) Financial - I am now in the green on my 2 January meme purchases: MAC and NOK. For both, I'm technically looking at a unrealized loss but when added up the covered call premiums gained since January, I am at the break-even point for MAC and slightly in ...

Re: Investments Trade Log

@giskard Random thought I had the other day... With the way options prices swing on long calls, I've wondered about artillery shelling a bunch of different tickers. Meaning buying single call options contracts on a large range of tickers 6 months out and setting up automatic sells at 10-15% profit r...
