Re: Western Red Cedar's Journal
I had already decided what species of trees I wanted to plant in a clear cut I had done a few years ago. I had a bunch of scrubby Douglas firs taken out, as they were shading our yard. But the area below them had annoyed me for years, nothing but blackberry briars, since it had been cleared long bef...

I see free mattresses by the sides of the road pretty often around here. Sometimes I really hate people.

I am retired. I wouldn't move away from my friends. Sadly I live about 1.5 hours from any of them, but in 3 different directions. So it's even. I wish they would move closer to me.

Congratulations! When I was reading your first entry above I was thinking "I thought he was already retired!" So you did manage it a year younger than me. 56 is just my minimum retirement age so it's only early compared to most federal employees I know who spend too much money to do it.

Yay! It's good to hear from you, I was worried. I thought you were still down there east of Eugene where one of the big fires was. I'm doing adequately as usual. Sold some timber to pay for a new road to Weyerhauser property so I can have logs hauled out that way rather than over my driveway bridge....
