Re: Frank the ERE pug (2003-2020)

Sorry for your loss Jacob. My cat Jack is 17 and... he seems in perfect health if a bit overweight. I consider their love worth the pain of losing them. But I have to tell myself that every time.

Re: 7Wannabe5- Take 6

Where do you find all these wealthy friends? I think I might be the richest person I know....

More seriously, what a privilege. To care for a friend in need.

Reep, ya me too. Of course my main precaution is my own ableism but I do have masks. I have also shared hugs with 4 people who are not from my immediate household.

Ah. Short circuits. Not just about people.

I wish we could meet up again. Not for wiring details.

But for a person who hasn't killed himself yet with a chainsaw, I'm pretty good.

Re: How to cut your own hair? (long hair)

One of the most beautiful women I know, who is ethnically Chinese, just ties her long hair up into a knot and cuts the excess off with a knife.

I am so in love with her. She's at least 30 years younger than I am. Just how my life works. Better than not loving anybody.

I think it was more like 5% in Italy. When you run out of hospital capacity.

Re: Patronage/Matronage

What prompted the question? I do support another person, have done so since before we got married. I have mixed feelings about it, leaning towards opposition. We never had kids for her to raise. House and garden mostly her jobs.

I haven't been on the forum for a while... but at least in some places things are starting to open up. Since George's post.

Will your autocross start again George or have they given up for the season? ...dunno when the season is though.

Re: reepicheep's journal

Amazing work. I get it about recovering from working in the woods! No roof on my tractor, just a roll over bar. My tractor won't be anywhere near falling trees, it will stay on my skid trails and winch the fallen trees to it. Even from skid trails, if I need to, I can use the forestry winch (not pur...

Re: reepicheep's journal

Does the BCS have the kind of brakes where you can stop one wheel at a time? For sharper turning? Reading your story of the hung up oak tree really makes me appreciate the winch on my old Toyota. I've never had the truck stuck and have only used the winch to pull down hung up trees. The trouble with...

That one's newer than mine but it sure looks nice. Maybe nobody dropped a tree on it.

Mine is back together and works this time! Sheesh I'm retired and I still want a vacation. At least a long bike ride this week. Today I'm going to reward myself by cutting trees down (Reepicheep can come help!).

We're not really confined here. I can still go meet a friend at a park and go for a walk. Just have to maintain distance. It sucks but at least we're not trapped in apartments.
