Re: Do you have kids or plan to ?

I have a 9 months old baby and I'm planning to have another one. Here in Sweden is really cheap to raise a kid, everything is free, it's only the kindergarten that costs, but not much, about 150 USD per month, tops. The only thing I'm having troubles with (from an ERE perspective) is housing costs. ...

Re: My path to FI :)

His main point is that one shouldn't look endlessly for one own's passion. Instead improve skills bit by bit. I hope I summarized it correctly. Oh, really interesting! I will get the book. That is an angle that I've never considered, about finding a job I'm passionate about. Thank you for the sugge...

Re: My path to FI :)

Thank you MDFIRE! :)
Yes, I've worked as a lab technician before. That is the job I decided to quit 2 and a half years ago, to look for something else, something I would be more passionate about. But I didn't find anything yet... well, at least I tried! :D

Re: Oxford versus Karolinska

I guess you've already decided and I don't have any suggestions to give but I have been working at Karolinska Institutet and I live quite close to the university, if you have any specific question feel free to ask.

Re: Kind of close to retirement and now jobless and totally confused!

Wow! 2 years are gone from my last post and so many things have happened. I haven't found a passion, I tried a couple of jobs (teacher and web designer) and really don't want to do that. I feel so spoiled saying that... Then, I met my partner, after 6 months I got pregnant and we have a 9 months old...

Re: Kind of close to retirement and now jobless and totally confused!

So the current goal is to make money!? Ahah yes! Jacob, you summarized my messy post very well  Thank you for the great advice, I have been overthinking without much action... I need to just do things! :) Imagine what not having a job temporarily would do to most other people. Do you mind shar...

Re: Kind of close to retirement and now jobless and totally confused!

I am not one who really believes that job will bring spiritual fulfillment, You are right almostthere ! I don't believe that either. Any job would be more interesting than what I was doing for four years, so the problem that is left for me is to understand what is the fastest way to get the best sa...

An Italian in Sweden: My path to FI :)

Hey everybody! I'm a 30 years old Italian woman living in Sweden. I have been saving and managing my money since I started working a few years ago and and recently I quit my full time job. I was really tired of that job, it was repetitive and I wasn't learning anything new, it felt like a waste of t...

Re: Hello from Sweden

Welcome!
I am in the same position, quite young and not financially ready to retire for good but with good savings after working for 4 years in Stockholm... so I recently quit working at the age of 29! But I'm sure you'll hold on for longer :)
Sweden is a really good place to save!

Good luck :)

Re: Frihet / Freedom - Journal

Hej frihet! This is awesome the first topic on the page is a journal from a Swede! I'm an Italian in my late twenties living in Sweden, I recently quit my job in Stockholm and I'm considering Norway because of the amazing salaries. The taxes though seem really high, isn't it around 36% for a salary ...

Hello from Sweden :)

Hello everybody! I am an Italian woman in my late twenties living in Sweden. I recently quit my job because I needed a change (not so good if someone has saving money in mind). I am free to move anywhere and I love to see new places so I'm looking for a job in a place where it's easy to save, possib...
