Re: Cover crop

Some use a grass whip to practice their golf swing. Seriously! It looks like the solution would be either to waste a season or waste the food to get nitrogen into the ground OR plant "russian kale" everywhere. We've had some repeated success with the kale overwintering under the snow and ...

Not being familiar with it, I googled: "Phacelia is a nitrogen-fixing legume. Nodules on the roots are the site of a symbiotic relationship between plant and soil micro organisms."
No phacelia is not a legume:

Re: Cover crop

I second broadbeans, they are tasty proteins too! Our gardener has been using them two seasons ago. Last season and this season he planted something that flowers blue, I'll ask him what species that it. Note though that you get either protein in harvested seeds or nitrogen in the soil: Incorporatin...

Re: Long beds or square raised beds for gardening

I suggest finding some local gardeners. They know best.
Is the city compost tested for heavy metals etc?

It seems to me it would make much more sense to simply greatly expand current vaccine trials.

Re: COVID-19

Crowding into the stores always struck me as a bad idea due to the need to avoid crowds. I had a job interview today and the recruiter was complaining that the company was going to quarantine him after his grand cross country trip. I had to shake his hand then shake hands with the whole team. It wa...

I'm wondering if I should go buy seeds and attempt to kick start a patio garden. I live in a townhouse with minimal outdoor space but any veggies are better than no veggies.
Sprouts take less space and are apartment friendly.

Only one of those parties was going to benefit from Uber’s future success. There’s nothing wro...
